Baptist LabPlus Selects Siloam

as Test Site for New Technology

Working on the installation of 4medica are staff medical assistant Emad Khalil and Baptist LabPlus representatives Warren Bair and Leann McHenry.

Baptist LabPlus has been a strong partner in helping Siloam care for the indigent in our community since the early nineties.  When Siloam was recently approached to be a test site for implementing an internet-based physician office system, 4medica, the staff was delighted.

The new system eliminates manually filling out requisitions and allows clients to request lab tests and receive reports through the internet.  Once a patient's demographics are entered in the system, Siloam only has to retrieve the patient’s file and the demographics are filled in.  Another feature is that Siloam’s most frequently ordered tests are customized on the order screens.  On the LabPlus side, requisitions that are easier to read should increase accuracy in ordering tests.

Suzanne Phillips, Baptist LabPlus Administrative Director, said, “Siloam was selected to be the first client to use the system because the staff is always very upbeat and positive.  They welcome new technology that will improve work flow.

“It has been a pleasure to work with the staff during the installation and implementation of this new system. Siloam is a truly amazing place and all of us who have been on site have felt blessed and reminded of why we are in health care.”
