As
I write this story, I am expecting a contract to be returned on a piece
of land located near the Melrose Kroger Shopping Center on Franklin Road
. If it arrives and does become a binding document, we will immediately
begin feasibility studies, etc. to determine if this tract of land will
meet our needs.
Our
goal is to build a 10,000 sq.-ft. building with 40 to 50 parking spaces
that is conveniently located for our patients and volunteers. We have
dreamed of a new facility for quite some time and have put many hours
into refining a space requirements list, or better known by the staff
as the “dream list.”
We
hope for all of the things that you would typically find in any primary
care clinic, but in addition we want a chapel and rooms for counseling
and patient education, as well as a large area for training workshops.
Because we are a non-profit organization – not just a medical clinic –
we’ll also need some additional office space that might not typically
be found in a medical setting.
Our
board, staff and many faithful volunteers and donors believe that 2004
will be the year we break ground and begin to fulfill our vision for expansion.
As you know, our goal is to better care for the whole person – physically,
mentally and spiritually and we need more space to meet that goal.
Be watching
for more updates!
